On September 25th, we were pleased to welcome Boris Bonev for a career talk, Senior Research Scientist at NVIDIA Research in Zurich and soon Assistant Professor at École Polytechnique (Institut Polytechnique de Paris).

Boris completed his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics at EPFL with Prof. Jan S. Hesthaven. He then joined NVIDIA Research, where his work sits at the intersection of numerical methods, machine learning, and scientific computing.
This event was focused on Boris’s career path: his experience as a PhD student at EPFL, his transition from academia to industrial research at NVIDIA, his work on large-scale scientific machine learning projects, and his decision to return to academia.
